All the earth will worship and sing praise to God . . . sing praises to His name. Ps 66:4

The heavens are telling of the glory of God, their expanse is declaring the work of God’s hands. Ps 19:1

As Jesus passed by on His final ascent into Jerusalem, people were praising God joyfully with a loud voice saying, ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD . . . the Pharisees hovering in the crowd took offense, commanding Jesus to silence them. Jesus responded, ‘I tell you, if they become silent, the very stones will cry out!’ Luke 19:37-40

I wonder if I join my voice with the heavens, the heartstrings of all creation in worship and praise to our God? Or does my mute voice ever cause the rocks to cry out in my place?

How I’d like to say I never have failed to give God praise, nor allowed my worship to wane. Maybe not willfully or intentionally, yet I fear I have. Days life moves into the fast time at my waking, unrelenting until nightfall, and leaves me spent, drained and empty. Praises mute. Worship forgotten even though it would replenish my spirit, remind me of God’s faithfulness, and refocus my heart.

Other days, I seize every opportunity to enter into God’s presence, joyfully giving thanks. Worshipping the One who is all I need. The One whom my soul loves. Our Creator whose handiwork supplies me with untold reasons to praise His name. My Provider who daily causes me to bow before Him with a grateful heart. Jesus, our rescuer, Savior, Redeemer, and hope . . . O God, may I praise your name forever!

O worship the King, all glorious above,
O gratefully sing His power and His love;
Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

O tell of His might, O sing of His grace,
Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space,
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
And dark is His path on the wings of the storm.

Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
In Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail;
Thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,
Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.
