I am someone who has struggled, questioned, endured and come through a number of dark periods of life. And though I spent way too much time mired in places of despair, worth-lessness and insecurities, those days gave me great gifts. One being the lens through which I now view God. The God I believe gives worth and proclaims value over each human being. The God who enters our suffering with us. The God who hears our cries, sees our tears, and comes near to all who seek Him. The God of the Christian Scriptures who is with us on all our days.

I currently serve as Director of Kids Hope USA, a mentoring ministry at my church. I am passionate about helping our mentors communicate to the children at our partner elementary school that they are persons of great worth and value. Just as I hope I conveyed to each student I taught over the span of my career as a band director.

I write on the ways I have experienced God’s presence in my suffering, God’s strength in my weakness, God’s presence throughout Creation and God’s victory through redemption in Jesus Christ.

As a graduate of George W Truett Theological Seminary with at Master’s degree in Theological Studies, I know enough to know I will never know enough. But oh, how I love the journey into of the heart of God.
